A reminder about human nature
I’m going to guess that each workday you make your alarm clock stop beeping, make some coffee, make yourself presentable, and make your way to your office so you can make clients happy and make a profit.
You do all this because you, my friend, are a maker.
It’s in our DNA to make things.
We make meals. Faces. Jokes. Decisions. Mistakes. (And if we’re wise, corrections.)
We make do, make out, make love, make babies.
When we get careless or proud, we make messes and, sometimes, enemies. (Thank God for the times we have sense enough to make an effort to make up.)
Is there a more staggering truth?
We are MAKERS. WE are makers!
And it’s even better than that. Each morning we awaken to the gift of a new, once-in-a-lifetime day. A workspace or laboratory, if you will, in which to do our thing.
So, what are you going to make today? Sales calls? Progress toward a goal?
The possibilities are endless. You could make a memory. Or make someone feel safe and accepted. Or be extra courageous and make peace with your past.
Here's what I know for sure...
Today, if we make up our minds to leverage our abilities and opportunities, we have a chance to make the best of all things...
A difference.
